Greetings! My name Erica Jefferson, a NJ mother of three with Seattle roots and the inspired founder of the blog Resting Beach Face. In 2002, I graduated from the Ringling College of Art with a BFA degree in Illustration. Shortly after I moved to Atlanta and began working at Mud Pie, one of the leading gift retailers in the U.S. where I worked as an artist designing giftware and seasonal products. After Mud Pie I moved to the NYC area in 2006 and began a long career working in swimwear and children's fashion for well-known brands such as Target, Walmart, Sears, JC Penney and TJ Maxx. I now reside in the 'burbs of NJ with my three beautiful children, husband, and two vivacious labs.
In 2015 our family moved from NJ to FL with two very young children while our house was getting rennovated. My in-laws had recently purchased a home on Captiva, FL and my husband said we would be there for three months max. Well three months turned into three years (and even three children!) Although I had already spent alot of time in Florida already with college and visiting my grandparents in Stuart, I really became immersed in resort style living. I started a vintage furniture resell business (Blue Foo Vintage) as well as a stationery company (Blue Foo Stationery.) Both were successful ventures but in the end I wasn't able to sustain them as they became too demanding as we were preparing for a 3rd child.
Although I have moved on from my past businesses, what did remain is my love for everything "Palm Beach Chic." I still get giddy over a great pair of staffordshire dogs resting on a mantel and my soul comes alive when I come across a vintage faux bamboo Henry Link furniture set (it's the little things.) I started Resting Beach Face to give hommage to things such as these. Although I've just began this journey, I'm thrilled to share my discoveries, inspirations, and stories with you all.
Erica xx
