Although I'm trying to hold onto summer with every fiber of my being, I know fall is just around the corner. I can't help but think that it won't be long before we say goodbye to our oversized Bogg Beach bags and lazy afternoons lounging lakeside while sipping High Noons (maybe I'm giving myself too much away here ;) and are saying hello to pumpkin spice lattes, cozy sweaters, and crisp fall air. So with that being said I wanted to touch on the Fall 2025 style trends (and there are many of them) that you should know about. Why? Because you'll be seeing it.... everywhere. You will have to decide, will you love it or leave it?
Maximalism in Fashion
Maximalism is big for fall 2025 and its everywhere. It is a bold, vibrant, and unapologetic celebration of excess that promotes individuality through vivid colors, patterns, and layers. With a "more is more" attitude, this trend invites creativity and confidence. While it might appear chaotic at first glance, maximalism is actually a thoughtful approach to design, carefully balancing contrasting elements and ensuring a cohesive look. KEY ELEMENTS: Clashing florals, bold prints, jewel tones, layering, textures, embellishments and chunky jewelry. Incorporating Maximalism into your everyday look for us mere mortals can seem daunting but try beginning with one bold piece- like a printed scarf or a bold statement bag- and pair it with neutrals. If you start feeling bolder gradually add more patterns and colors. Its all about balancing the chaos ( and if you're a mother, you know exactly what I'm talking about!) Use one solid color or texture to ground a busy outfit. Just remember, confidence is key, maximalism thrives on attitude!

Maximalism in the Home
Maximalism like in fashion has seen a huge rise in home decor, where "dopamine decor" and "pattern drenching" dominates. It embraces a curated collection of favorite things, creating a vibrant and personalized space that celebrates individual style and storytelling. With maximalism, anything goes. Homes can now feature layered rugs, mismatched furniture, and large gallery walls with ecletic art in vintage frames. Velvet sofas in jewel tones, patterned wallpapers, and an array of thrifted trinkets are scattered throughout. Interior designer @milesredd has mastered this look for years. Other notable designers that have embraced the look are Sasha Bikoff, Jonathan Adler, Luke Edward Hall, Kelly Wearstler and Martin Lawrence Bullard. In interiors, Maximalism has no doubt taken center stage.

Getting the look.
So you love the maximalist look but aren't sure where to start? A good rule of thumb is to start small. Think of incorporating a couple of ecletic antique or thrifted pieces throughout the room along with a great pair of patterned pillows. Make them mismatched if you're feeling extra confident. A fabulous patterned statement rug would also pull the look together. Add more elements as you feel bolder. Remember, pattern is king! Need some inspiration? Check out one of a kind antique items on Chairish or visit Anthropologie . They both offer an tons of inso to help you pull together your Maximalist vibe!

Maximalism in 2025 is an explosive, boundary-pushing trend of expressionism that celebrates individuality through bold colors, contrasting pattern, texture, and layers. Whether you're dipping in with a single statement piece or going full-on eclectic, it's a trend that invites creativity and confidence, making every outfit and room, a work of art. So my friends, is maximalism a trend you are going to make your own or is it one you will leave on the runway?
